Website
ellieandcat.show

Ellie & Cat is an independent creator brand based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, run by its individual owner as an unincorporated business. The products and services on this site are sold by that owner, operating under the name Ellie & Cat.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use ellieandcat.show (the “Site”), buy something, order a service or contact us — and what we do with it. The controller of that data — the person who decides how and why it is used — is the individual owner of Ellie & Cat, operating under that name.

What we collect

When you buy something or request a free download

Checkout is handled by our payment partner, Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. It collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details, and shares your order details and email address with us so we can deliver what you bought. We never see your full card number.

When you email us

We receive your email address and whatever you write to us.

When you order a service

You send us the material the service needs — for example a prompt and the video it produced, or a photo of your cat and a line about them. We use it only to deliver that service.

Automatically

Our hosting provider records standard technical information in server logs when the Site is requested — IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time — and uses it to keep the Site secure, fast and available. The Site does not set advertising or analytics cookies of its own and does not embed social-media tracking pixels.

Children

Our products and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16; if you think we have, email us and we will delete it.

How we use it

We use personal data to:

  • deliver what you bought — send download links, access instructions, reports and cameo details, and answer questions about your order (to perform our contract with you);
  • reply to you when you get in touch (our legitimate interest in running the business);
  • tell you about related products after you request a free download or join a waitlist — you can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the link in the email or by emailing us (your consent, or our legitimate interest in telling existing contacts about our products);
  • keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems (our legitimate interests);
  • meet legal obligations, such as keeping sales records for tax and accounting purposes.

Who we share it with

We don't sell personal data. We share it only with:

  • our payment partner, Paddle, which processes your payment as merchant of record and is responsible for that data under its own privacy policy;
  • service providers that help us run the Site, store and deliver files and send email — including our hosting provider, Cloudflare. They act on our instructions and only for the purposes above;
  • authorities, courts or professional advisers when the law requires it or to protect our rights;
  • a successor if the business is sold or transferred, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Where your data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and in other countries. If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with data-transfer rules, we rely on the safeguards those rules provide, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Order records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
  • Material you send for a service: for as long as we need it to deliver the service and handle follow-up questions. We don't keep it longer than we need it.
  • Emails: for as long as needed to deal with your message and any follow-up.
  • Server logs: for a short period, set by our hosting provider, for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it if it's wrong;
  • delete it;
  • restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use;
  • give it to you in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it — for example, stop marketing emails.

To exercise any of these, email us. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority; if you are a California resident, the rights to know, delete and opt out of sale apply — and, as above, we don't sell personal data.

Cookies

The Site itself does not set cookies beyond anything strictly necessary for it to work. The checkout pages run by Paddle, and the third-party sites we link to (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Runway), set their own cookies under their own policies.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, and our providers do the same. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep the email account you use for purchases secure too.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with its “last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so here.
